At the meeting, head of BOCOG Department of Environment made a presentation about the organizers’ work and plan to implement the “Green Olympics” idea.

Representatives from 18 Environmental NGOs attended, including the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES), the Chinese Environmental Protection Association, the World Wide Fund for Nature, Friends of Nature and Greenpeace.

The NGOs shared their experience in environmental education, translations of environmental films, promotion of community-based environmental protection activities, protection of biodiversity and preservation of rivers. They also put forward suggestions on how to promote the idea of “Green Olympics” among the people.
