The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced that it has received the Candidature Files of the five Candidate Cities bidding to host the Games of the XXX Olympiad in 2012. Paris (FRA), New York (USA), Moscow (RUS), London (GBR) and Madrid (ESP)1 all delivered their files before the deadline of midnight tonight.

The five cities were accepted as Candidate Cities by the IOC Executive Board on 18 May from a total of nine Applicant Cities, which also included Leipzig (GER), Istanbul (TUR), Havana (CUB) and Rio de Janeiro (BRA).
The IOC Evaluation Commission, chaired by Olympic champion Nawal El Moutawakel, will now analyse the Candidature Files and make site inspections as follows:
Madrid: 3 - 6 February 2005
London: 16 - 19 February 2005
New York: 21 - 24 February 2005
Paris: 9 - 12 March 2005
Moscow: 14 - 17 March 2005
The commission report
The Commission will then prepare a report that will be published and submitted to IOC members no later than one month before the election of the host city on 6 July 2005 during the 117th IOC Session in Singapore.
Please note that the IOC will not release the Candidature Files, but has informed the Candidate Cities that they can make their File public and post them on their websites if they so wish, as soon as they receive the IOC's written authorisation on 16 November (tomorrow).
Cities are listed in the order of drawing of lots.
