Beijing Mayor Discusses Olympic Broadcasting with US TV Network NBC (photo attached)
 


  Beijing hopes that the US TV network NBC will record every bit of the efforts that the Chinese people make to overcome various challenges during the preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing Mayor Wang Qishan said in Beijing on November 11, 2004.

  During his meeting with a delegation from the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) led by Dick Ebersol, chairman of NBC Universal Sports & Olympics, Wang said the BOCOG will join hands with NBC to stage a successful Olympic Games.

  Wang, also executive president of the Beijing Organising Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG), said Beijing will strive to present to the world China’s historical and cultural characteristics in the staging of the Games.

  Ebersol expressed the willingness to further enhance NBS’ corporation with China and Beijing so as to continuously deepen mutual understanding and communications between American and Chinese people. He said NBS will show every step of Beijing’s preparation for and the whole process of the 2008 Olympic Games to the world.

  BOCOG Vice-President Jiang Xiaoyu and NBC Sports Vice President Alex Gilady were also present at the meeting.
