Olympic posters on display in Beijing

About 300 Olympics-themed posters designed by college students around China are being on show in the Beijing Jintai Art Gallery as part of the grand celebration to mark the second anniversary of the city's successful bid for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Organizers collected more than 3,860 entries from 266 colleges and universities around the nation, including those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, since the design event was initiated in March this year.

"This activity is aimed to help the younger generation better understand the Olympic motto of 'altius, citius and fortius'," BOCOG Vice President Jiang Xiaoyu said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition on July 12.

Artists present at the display believed the creations reflect the students' mastery of visual art and their understanding of the Olympic Movement.
