BOCOG’s promotional film “Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing” won the sole top prize at the 22nd International Festival of Sports Movies and TV held in Milan, Italy during October 28 to November 3. It was the second time that a BOCOG promotional film received top honor at this international event.
Last year, BOCOG won the same prize at the festival with “New Beijing, Great Olympics,” a promotional film about Beijing’s bid for the 2008 Olympics.
This year, 916 TV and movie works from 42 countries and regions around the world competed for 16 prizes in seven categories in the event. “Chinese Seal, Dancing Beijing”, a film about the logo of the Beijing Olympic Games, finally claimed the top honor.
The BOCOG promo was one of the movies played at the opening ceremony of the international TV and movies gala. It also culminated the prize awarding ceremony, with the characters of “Beijing 2008” shining on the screen till the curtain fell at the festival. The movie was directed by famous Chinese director Zhang Yimo.
The International Festival of Sports Movies and TV is sponsored annually by the International Sporting Film and Television Federation, a 20-year-old multinational organization with more than 90 members from around the world.
